The soap opera rumor mill has been in overdrive the last few weeks with speculation about one of the upcoming twists at "One Life to Live." We hinted at it last week, but now we can confirm that one of this summer's steamiest storylines will be the tortured romance between Officer Oliver Fish (Scott Evans) and conniving, yet oddly loveable, Kyle Lewis (Brett Claywell). The story will primarily focus on the journey of Fish as he struggles to come to terms with his own personal truth.

Gay couples are nothing new to daytime fans -- and the enormous popularity of Luke and Noah (Van Hansis and Jake Silbermann) on "As The World Turns" is proof that audiences enjoy these characters. However, this will be the first major gay storyline on "One Life to Live" since Billy Douglas came out and subsequently catapulted Ryan Phillippe to stardom. We're not forgetting Nora's dastardly politician lover Daniel Colson, who was closeted and a psychopath -- but it's not really the same thing.

Anyhow, Scott's been blabbing to AfterElton.com and The Advocate about all the latest in Llanview. It seems Fish and Kyle shared more than a bathroom at the KAD Frathouse. But is Fish really gay? What about his dalliances with Stacy and his dating Layla? Is Fish bisexual? Why does everyone think he's such a dork when, um, he's really attractive? So many questions!

Don't expect Kyle to sit idly by while Oliver Fish faces his demons, though. Word out of the Casting Office is that Nicholas Rodriguez has been cast as the Latin Lover of Kyle's dreams. He'll be playing a character by the name of, wait for it, Nick. Broadway fans may have noticed him swinging around the rafters in that green dream of a show, "Tarzan." So, yes, we've got a sexy love-triangle brewing for some late-summer action.
