Fan Faves Return to "Guiding Light"

Morgan Englund

Morgan Englund, along with Melissa Hayden, is returning to "Guiding Light."

Good news, "Guiding Light" fans! More Springfield favorites are set to return before the series finale on September 18th. Morgan Englund will be reprising his role as Reva's son Dylan, and Melissa Hayden will be back on the canvas as Matt's sister Bridget.

Morgan has played Dylan on and off for almost two decades, and was last seen in 2006. (Dylan did come back to Springfield in '07, when Brian Gaskill played the role.) Fun fact: Morgan is SOAPnet.com fave Cloris Leachman's son!

Meanwhile, we haven't seen Emmy winner Melissa Hayden (or Bridget) since the actress left "GL" in 1997.

Melissa and Morgan join the already-announced returns of Michelle Ray Smith (Ava), Maureen Garrett (Holly), Fiona Hutchison (Jenna), and Peter Simon (Ed). While the legendary soap may be wrapping up, it'll be great to witness the reemergence of these much-missed faces.

Do you think Dylan and Bridget have reconciled and will be returning together? Sound off in the comments below!

Guiding Light was one of my favorite soap show. I had enjoyed the storylines and the appearance of the show. The past few years, it had changed, the theme, the storylines and the appearance of the show. Of course change is good but this was too drastic of a change. It was not an original anymore but a new soap show just coming on. The old Guilding Light has gone. Other soap operas has made changes but they were not as drastic as GL. I missed the OLD GUILDING LIGHT and glad the new GL is going off the air.

I have been a fan of GL for decades. I have been a faithful fan. I am deeply saddened to know it is about to go off and never to be seen again. My life will certainly be different after that last episode. I wish it could run on Soapnet if not on CBS. Sometimes I have to watch Y&R on Soapnet and it would be no problem for me to watch GL. I am truly saddened by the decision to kill this almost" historical" soap! I would like to know if the various actors/actresses are saddened as I am. They could even interact with some of the other soaps as in B&B and Y&R.

ok the only soap I will watch going forward is Y&R. I hate that Guilding Light is over. Truly I only watch because it them. This is the best story writing they have had in a long time. Maybe instead of getting rid of the show get new writers because I slowed down watching because the story lines were so cheesy! But lately oh my goodness you are doing a fantastic job! I DVR it and the minute I get off of work I sit and watch and do nothing until I watch Y&R and GL. This is a grave injustice. Please keep them it would be worth the wait!

I am 58 years old and remember my grandmother watching Guilding Light. I am devastated by their demise. Please, please don't let it end. Reva and Josh have to be together! I like Reva and Jeffrey together but they are just wrong. Billy and Vanessa must get married. Ava is too whiny. Johnathan has to bring back the baby!! I just don't like the way she is never mentioned. How could Lizzy ever forgive Allen? He is tiresome. Bill and Lizzy need her baby. Olivia needs to die.

I don't want Guiding Light to go off. My mother also started me watching the show.

I'm not sure if Dylan and Bridget got back together but I'd like to know if they had any children.

I don't want Guiding Light to leave. I've been watching since as long as I can remember. My mom watched it before me.
