Eden Riegel Joins Y&R
Huge casting news, soap fans. Former All My Children actress Eden Riegel is joining the cast of The Young and the Restless.
Eden -- who teased fans with the news yesterday on her Twitter feed -- will be taking over the role of Genoa City's hottest A.D.A., Heather Stevens, according to CBS Soaps in Depth. Vail Bloom has played the part since 2007.
UPDATE!
CBS has now confirmed Eden's casting, releasing the following statement:
"The role of 'Heather' has been re-cast with EDEN RIEGEL. Many of you may know her from her Emmy Award-winning role as 'Bianca' on AMC. Eden will start the week of March 15th."
A little background on what the one-time Bianca Montgomery has to look forward to as Heather: AWESOME dad Paul Williams; some sordid history with Y&R's baddest guy, Adam Newman; and a whole lot of serious crimes to try. Because for a small town in Wisconsin, GC's got some felons.
We can't wait to see Eden take on a role so different from Binks!

Is this why Paul is suddenly a brunett? I couldn't figure out why his normally blond hair was suddenly darkened. I enjoy Eden and look forward to watching her in a new role.
I LOVE EDEN RIEGEL. I LOVED HER ON AMC AND MISSED HER WHEN SHE WAS GONE.I LIKE VAIL BLOOM TOO.SHE HASNT HAD A LOT TO DO SINCE ADAM MOVED ON. APPARANTLY HE WAS THE LAST BACHELOR IN THAT TOWN SO VAIL HAD NO BOYFRIEND AND WITH NO COURT CASES THERE WAS NO REASON FOR HER CHARACTER TO EVEN BE THERE.EDEN RIEGEL HAS AN EMMY.SHES A VERY GOOD ACTRESS.SHE CAN PLAY MEAN AS WELL AS SWEET.I JUST HOPE THEY GIVE THE CHARACTER MORE TO DO THAN VAIL HAD.
Well, unless the writers give her something really meaty to sink her teeth into, the character will be the same whiny brat... Everyone seems to be giving Vail Bloom a tough time, but the writers made the character that way. I just want them to get rid of wacky Patty...
Vail Bloom as Heather was becoming very one note. Of course that might be the writing more than the actress-but Heather was just becoming a boring spiteful bi0tch-whoever's fault it was. It will be nice to see someone as talented Eden in the role. It will take some getting used to but she was terrific on AMC and they are foolish for not giving her whatever she wanted to come back. But I've given up on AMC and am hooked on Y&R now so I glad.
Hello all - I don't care if they recast Bianca on AMC. I like Eden - the role of Bianca has been so scarce it just won't matter if they don't recast. I'm not a Y&R viewer so all of you out there who are - just be sure to tell the Y&R writers to not let Eden sing! It's just terrible - she screeches and blood will start shooting out of your ears!
I won't miss her on AMC. She was not convincing as a lesbian, all she did was sulk and whine. Maybe she can prove her merit as an actor with a meatier role.

hey I'm LMAO that Bianca is on Y&R. Maybe she joined to face her lesbian friend Chloe since they were lovers on AMC. Can't wait to see them act together on this soap. Hey maybe Y&R will bring some of the chemistry to this soap.LOL just a jester!!!

Vail's character was boring, and unless the writers make
the new cast mate better at solving cases, and a kick butt
D.A., she too will will fade like dry paint on the wall!
