Eden Riegel Joins Y&R
Huge casting news, soap fans. Former All My Children actress Eden Riegel is joining the cast of The Young and the Restless.
Eden -- who teased fans with the news yesterday on her Twitter feed -- will be taking over the role of Genoa City's hottest A.D.A., Heather Stevens, according to CBS Soaps in Depth. Vail Bloom has played the part since 2007.
UPDATE!
CBS has now confirmed Eden's casting, releasing the following statement:
"The role of 'Heather' has been re-cast with EDEN RIEGEL. Many of you may know her from her Emmy Award-winning role as 'Bianca' on AMC. Eden will start the week of March 15th."
A little background on what the one-time Bianca Montgomery has to look forward to as Heather: AWESOME dad Paul Williams; some sordid history with Y&R's baddest guy, Adam Newman; and a whole lot of serious crimes to try. Because for a small town in Wisconsin, GC's got some felons.
We can't wait to see Eden take on a role so different from Binks!

PHYLLIS IS EVIL AND HEATHER IS A BAD LAWYER AND SHE IS UGLY. WHEN SHE IS ON; I LEAVE THE ROOM. DON'T LIKE HER ACTING.
Do not like the new Heather at all,whiney,complete turn around from the character previously played. She was strong, smart,independent, tough, take on anybody, including whoever is trying to kill her....she would have hit it head on..also the previous characters moral were so strong on fidelity, she would never have so blatantly thrown herself at Chance...and Chance, come on, it's unbelievable his character just fell into bed with her...not the part for this person.....
EDEN RIEGEL, is not ugly, and she is not annoyring. She is an emmy winning actress for the way that she is !! You're going to have to get used to it !
I've seen Vail Bloom acting in some primetime shows. Good Luck, Vail, with what ever your plans of your career take you. You have done a great job as Heather Stevens. As for Eden Riegel, I will not judge her but will give her a chance to see what she can do as Heather Stevens. Great to have you on the show, Eden.
What happen? I love the old Heather. She's a great actress. I will miss her.

Eden will make a fantastic Heather, On AMC she was to weak, thats just my op. I want to see her in action now...:)
Their not saying why the original Heather Stevens is leaving?
I hate it that they are recasting. It seems like just when you get use to a character that have to mess things up and recast. Its a shame too because i have just recently started to really get into the show. I hope that the riters can start to get things right. I hope that Sharon and Adam get their baby back and that they get back together. They have great chemistry together. If they get back together then i will start watching it more often. Also whats up with the whole patty and dr.petterson drama....when is the truth going to come out and when are they going to do something different with their charicters, i`m getting board with this sory line. Wriers can you please make the show more interesting!!!!
Kati , If you are disgusted with soaps, then may I suggest you get a hobby . Just try to be positive & happy. It's all in the attitude, dear. As for the new Heather, I wish her well . The first Heather is a knockout and a fairly good actress but I never felt the chemistry was there with the other cast . I wish past & present a fruitful future .
