Sure -- they're from the Midwest, they've got two teenaged kids, and they aren't the richest on their Beverly Hills block. That doesn't mean the new "90210"'s Mills family isn't anything more that the Walshes, redux.
Lori Loughlin, who plays Mills mom Annie, tells People, "It's not the Walsh [family]. It's the same premise in the fact that it is a brother and sister moving from the Midwest to California, but other than that, they're not twins. One is my biological daughter. The other is my adopted son, who is African-American. So it's a contemporary family. It's fitting more of what's happening today in families."
Another new twist? The attention won't just be on her kids, played by Shenae Grimes and Tristan Wilds; Annie has drama of her own. "It's going to be really good -- a little more interesting -- because you've got like the parents and their lives," Loughlin explains. "What I love about my character is she's not just the mom that's home parenting -- she's got a career! She's a photographer -- she's in the workplace."
And at home, she's got a hot guy waiting for her. "Rob Estes is my husband. I'm very excited about that!" Lori says.
Who would win in a mom-off: Annie Mills or Cindy Walsh?
