"Days of our Lives": Week in Review for August 31, 2009

Daniel's experimental treatment -- giving her more of the same poison that put her in a coma -- seemed to help Chloe's condition.

Another week in Salem, another chance for Rafe to find out that Sami's baby Grace wasn't really Sami's baby Grace. Sadly, he's still on truth's trail -- but he's closer, ever closer. Meanwhile, Daniel was able to administer an experimental treatment to Chloe (and find the gloves Kate used when handling the poison!!), and it turns out that Victor Kirakis is making like Tony Montana. Read on for our favorite moments from the week ...

Funniest Moment: We love a good '90s TV reference as much as the next person, so we had to LOL a bit when Kate was talking with Craig, Chloe's father, about how Nathan Horton seemed leery of going forward with Chloe's living will. "Doogie Howser doesn't want to honor Lucas's decision ... ," said Ms. Roberts. If only NPH had rounded the corner of the hospital with chart in hand, wearing a bow tie ...

WTH? Moment: There were two this week, in fact. First, doesn't anyone in Salem have Caller ID on their cell phones? Kate picks up her cell -- expecting it to be drunk Daniel (again, after having just ended a heated conversation with him) -- and can't tell it's her son Lucas until he says "Hello, Mom." Isn't Caller ID free with Salem Cellular's friends & family plan?

Secondly, we've decided that Daniel has a major propensity to talk to himself -- so much so, it almost gets him caught ... like in Chloe's hospital room, after giving her the dose of poison meant to pull her out of the coma. We found ourselves yelling at the TV screen, "WTH! They're coming, Daniel!" And then we looked up and saw our coworkers staring. Remember, kids: An inside voice works best for office environments.

Best Moment: When Troy the Drug Guy, and a man of some kind of Eastern European origin, discuss how they're meeting Arianna about their cocaine-dealing business. Turns out, Man of Eastern European Descent is NOT the "big boss" ... camera pulls back to reveal one VICTOR KIRIAKIS! We gasped, we readily admit. Totes didn't see it coming.

We also enjoyed Melanie and Nathan's Cheerios product placement. It was pretty seamless.

Performer of the Week: Nadia Bjorlin as Chloe ... saying so much by saying so little. And she looks so angelic doing it! For her sake, we hope she gets to speak some full paragraphs again soon.

Why We Love "Days of our Lives" This Week: Because Sami and Rafe might be finding their way back to one another, and because Stefano is (and always will be) a badass.

What was your favorite part of "Days" this week?

I may be behind the times but what's with the new Arianna? Is she permanent or temporary?

Pleaaaaaaaaaase let the baby switch ordeal end!!! I cannot believe Sami trusting Nicole suddenly, after all these years of backstubbing and badmouthing each-other; now they're best friends, sharing info with her? Doesn't she know better?? Trusting her more than trusting Rafe? WTH??? It's prime time for all to learn the truth about Nicole's evil-doings; give Sidney to Sami, let Mia know Grace was hers and she's gone, she can go on with her life with either Will (forever mumbling damn teen-ager...) or Chad, who still loves her...Down with Kate, down with Dean and all the evil characters and go on with new stories, pleeeaaase. I'm also tired of Lucas, who never has a smile, his forehead always wrinkeled with worry lines and he's a total idiot, believing his b***h mother. MM

I'm loving all the story lines. (excpet for the Bo and Hope... let them be happy) but enough is enough. I want Chloe to live as much as the next person but more than anything I want the story to move on. Have her come out of the coma, kate get what she has coming and have Chloe and Daniel live happily ever after. I'm also ready to see the baby swtich reveal. Is that going to happen soon. I can't wait to see what's going to happen between Sami and EJ when they found out the daughter they share is still alive. Reunited anyone? As an old Passions fan I love the reunion of brother/sister/ lovers. I love seeing the old Ethan and Theresa but when Brady and Ariana start heating things up, I get little confused and expect Gwen to coming runing in with some hair brain scheme. It may have been better if we could have gotten used to the new Ari before Brady and Ari were lovers. I can't wait to see what this next week holds!

when is Sami finally gonna find love without any drama.
Philip and Stephanie's together and not together thing is like a yo-yo and just needs to stop.
The new Arianna and Brady look good together as a couple, I liked them as a couple in Passions.

Didn’t really have one. Rafe is still keeping secrets and lying to Sami, his ego is defiantly getting in his way and I think Sami still thinks he is keeping things from her, when they got back from the NR she could have asked him in, but I think she wants to keep her distance b/c she doesn’t trust him. They do LOVES each other, but love and trust go hand-in-hand.

There are no words to describe how I feel about Kate/Lucas/Daniel/Chloe PLEASE end this s/l.

I don’t see the chemistry between Brady and nu-Ari; I liked him better with the old Ari.

Philip and Stephanie s/l is so boring, break-up, make-up etc., that’s all they do.

Bo and Hope they are hopeless, they have terrible s/l, now they are going back to years ago when Carly arrives, let’s move forward not backwards.
