It's an abbreviated week for everyone on "Days of our Lives," but even three days is too much for Philip Kiriakis, who deals with a heap of bad news. Yes, as "Days" fans likely know, late June/early July means NBC's Wimbledon coverage. Which means the show will be pre-empted on Thursday and Friday. Still, "Days" makes the most of the shortened week.
For starters, post-traumatic Stephanie is still struggling with pills. And with the chaotic Kiriakis lifestyle that got her so post-traumatic to begin with. And after getting some secret-keeping help from Melanie (!), Steph makes a decision ... and she calls off her engagement to Phillip! Wow. Good thing Phillip's been known to take bad news so well!
Elsewhere, Kate continues her campaign of fairy-tale-based terror against Chloe and Daniel. Remember how last week we said Kate was going all "wicked queen from 'Snow White'" on them? Well, this week she proves us TOTALLY PROPHETIC because she actually gives Chloe poisoned fruit to eat. (You guys? If she moves on to a field of poisoned poppies next week, we may have to re-evaluate.) This causes Chloe to collapse into The Maudlin Yet Hot Dr. Daniel's arms. Which probably isn't great news for Lucas. Nice one, Kate.
