"Days": Crystal Chappell Speaks!

Crystal is also starring in a web-based series called "Venice" -- and it's been getting quite good reviews. Congrats, lady!
Known currently as one-half of the mega-popular "Otalia" pairing on "Guiding Light," actress Crystal Chappell will soon bid Springfield a fond adieu. But Crystal fans, fear not! As we've earlier reported, she'll return to the airwaves just a few weeks later on "Days of our Lives" -- after a 16-year hiatus! -- as the no-stranger-to-misfortune Carly Manning. Crystal recently talked with TV Guide Magazine about what exactly brings Carly back to Salem on October 2nd. Most important to note? It involves MURRRRRDER ... and it could also spell disaster for "Days" supercouple Bo and Hope Brady.
Oh, and just FYI: Some of her answers make us want to be her best friend 4-ever. She sounds like a hoot! Now, on with the highlights:
On what it was like to return to the "Days" set after an almost two-decade-long absence:
"There were some familiar faces, but everything and everyone -- most of the cast and crew -- seemed largely new to me. Then again, I've had too much wine between 1993 and 2009 to remember how things used to be!"
One what brings Carly back, and why her former lover Bo may be the only guy to help:
"[She] has committed a murder and she's on the run. When we first see her, she's in [Monaco] and trying to make her way back to Salem. Because of what she's done, there are other people in danger, too -- and she needs help from Bo ... [he] is the only person Carly can trust; the only man who has ever really been there for her ... "
So what was Carly up to in Monaco ... besides MURRRRRDER:
"Slowly over time, you'll see what has happened to Carly during the 16 years away, although isn't everything comparatively boring after being buried alive? There have been some good years and some not-good years for her, and obviously it's ended on kind of a sour note."
Seeing as how Bo and Hope's marriage has been on the rocks since (well, even before) Ciara's kidnapping, we're pretty sure Carly's return won't go over very well in the Brady household. So set those DVRs -- or VCRs, if you're kickin' it old-skool -- for October 2nd to see just want kind of drama Ms. Manning brings with her to Salem.

She murdered her husband and is now working as a doctor in a hospital. Gosh, isn't anyone accountable for their actions on this show. Nicole is in prison for a simple kidnapping and baby switch - she should get mother of the year award. They must all be Democrats since they seem to be the only ones who can get away with underhanded dealings in the dark of night behind closed doors. Make things at least a little more believable. A doctor in a hospital - good grief. She's a murderer. Hope Vivian gets her revenge on her and she leaves the show for another 16 years.
Carley killed Lawrence in self defence . he hit her he wa also holdingher prisioner. He was planning something I think he found out that Nicky is Bos son so he was going after Bo
I think days is the soap on TV! I like to watch it and I feel that in some way it is alot like real live for some people. I was woundering when shaun brady jr was coming back. Will Rafe be ok? He is hot. I have been watching Day's since I was in a baby seat. my fav is Sammi. I see alot of sammi in me in some ways. I wish I didn't have to wait so long to find out what was going on. But I guess that is how they get people to watch the show longer. TaTa for know.
Nicole is busted yeah its about time. It will be nice to see Carly back instesring story line Carly a murderess.From nice girl to mean girl wow Hope needs to get over this and forgive Bo ceria is fine get over it. Shes going to loss him for good.She is not being fair to Ceria he is her daddy and she loves him.Mia needs to dump Chad what a jerk she loves Will thats who she should be with.I hope they dont kill off Raft that WOULD BE A MISTAKE.
i love crystal as an actress,and i absolutely loved carly and bo together.hope is being so mean to him,i hope he dumps hope and carly and bo get back together,but i do have to say,i also love michael sabatino.he is an awesome actor.i can't wait to see crystal and micheal again.love u guys
i hope he does help her and he leaves Hope. Bo needs a women thats willing to support him and Hope def hasnt been doin that lately. I am very disappointed in her she has always been one of my favs now i really dont like her that much!!

I think Bo should help Carly. Please bring Vivian Alamaine back . She's great. My mother -in law got me to watching Days back in 1972; my mother always watched the soaps on CBS.
Can't wait to see her on Days! I started watching Days around the time she was on and enjoyed Bo and Carly back in the day.
As a long time viewer, I'm glad they are bringing her and Vivian & Lawrence back to shake things up in Salem. It will give Bo and Hope something interesting to play. Probably Victor and Carolyn too. Activate the vets!
Right now, the only thing that interests me is the Sami-Nicole-EJ baby switch, with maybe Rafe thrown in.
Days need a shot in the arm. If the writers can come up with something the actors can elevate it. Go Crystal!
