David Canary to Retire
Five-time Daytime Emmy winner David Canary -- who has played manipulative and controlling (but lovable) millionaire Adam Chandler on All My Children since 1983 -- has announced his retirement.
"My career on All My Children has given me more than words could ever convey, both professionally and personally. I have cherished each and every moment. I would like to thank all the fans who have tuned in throughout the years. Their love and support has meant the world to me. I truly feel that I will leave the show in great hands. The viewers will be happy with how Adam departs the canvas and I know that leaving JR (Jacob Young) as head of the Chandler household will continue to provide the show with many great stories to come. This is not the last you've seen of Adam Chandler. I will be back to check up on the Chandler Clan," David said.
David, who also played Adam's gentle twin Stuart, will air through April 2010. Expect to see a scandalous end to his marriage with Annie (Melissa Claire Egan) and a reunion with an ex-wife. Which one? Take a guess -- he's got six of them (that are alive, at least). Look for the aftermath of his departure to leave a fight for power within the Chandler household.

I have been watching AMC since 1970 and have seen many come and go and comeback and go. I will miss Adam (David) very much. He always brought excitement to the show. And with Brooke gone too, the only two origionals are Tad and Ericka. Happy Retirement to David. You will be greatly missed by many. I hope you do plan to come back from time to time and stir the pot.

David Canary I will miss you on All My Children. I have watched the show since it first came on the air and you are still as good looking now as you were way back then, no wonder you had so many wife's, but I am so glad you will be flying away with Brooke, she is also one of my favorite. We watched you when you played Candy on the Bonanza series. You were great then also. Take Care we will miss you....
ok now that Adam will be leaving with Brooke, I think Ericia should take over Tempo and leave Fusion to Greens. Good move Angie getting David's license revolked, but we all know he will not let this go.

I have been watching All My Children since @ 1983 when you started with the show, and it is very sad to see you leaving. I will miss you (Adam), David Canary. I do hope you are well and will enjoy your Retirmement. It will be nice to see you pop in from time to time to check on the Chandler Mansion....maybe now Annie will go bizerk again, and with Janet returning, watch OUT! I went to see the 30th Anniversary in NYC in 2000, and it was awesome being there with all of the AMC cast...and took a picture with Zach (I loe him) and hope he returns!!!! and Greenlee, they were sitting behind me, it was exciting! God bless you, David!!! You will be missed......enjoy your Retirement!

I STARTED WATCHING ALL MY CHILDREN WHEN ERICA WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL. YOU ARE A CHARACTER EVERYONE WOULD LOVE TO HATE...THAT IS WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT ACTOR..I REALLY HATE TO SEE YOU LEAVE THE SHOW RIGHT NOW..YOU DO DESERVE TO LEAVE BUT SOMEONE HAS TO BE HATED BESIDES DAVID HAYWARD..AS FAR AS YOU LEAVING THEY SHOULD HAVE YOU LEAVE WITH BROOKE AND ANNIE OUT ALL THE WAY....ON HER OWN,

As a lifelong AMC fan I have seen lots of actors come and go but I will certainly miss David Canary playing Adam and Stuart. I hope retirement will be good to Mr. Canary and he will be visiting often to Pine Valley to keep JR and the rest of his clan straight. A good swift island divorce from Annie and a romantic marriage to Brooke would be a splendid way to say goodbye to both him and Brooke from the show. Neither of them seem like Vegas wedding people, besides he did that with Krystal...not a good idea to repeat.

I don't know what that Poster was Thinking of, but Stuart has Never been in A Motorcycle Club. I don't think Stuart even knows how to Ride A Motorcycle. Also, I don't think Stuart was Missing in the 80's. I think the only Time Stuart was Missing was when Esther had Kidnapped him and that was in the 90's. Maria had A Baby and Erica took the Baby and was Supposed to be going to the Hospital, but her Car went off the Road into the River. Esther found the Baby and was Taking care of the Baby. I can't Remember how Esther Kidnapped Stuart. The only People who Rode Motorcycles was Brooke, Ryan and Greenlee. Jody
I will miss you sir, enjoy yourself and the first thing I would do is take a nap. (lol) I hope you leave w/Brooke and be happy. Please divorce Anne ASAP. JR will do well in the role of Adam JR. OK Erica (Susan) is the only one left. When she leaves, I do believe Greens will fill the role of Pine Valley Diva well. There is always Kendell too. Pine Valley needs some new blood. Another younger verge of Palmer to give Adam JR a run 4 his money and life long enemy like Adam and Palmer. I suspect JR will marry at least 5 times before he gets it right. Babe was the love of his life, she is gone for now.
