Dallas To Be Remade?
If this news is true, then it's perhaps the greatest (or worst, depending on your POV) thing to happen in the history of mankind! The New York Times is reporting that TNT is in talks to remake the 1978-1991 CBS drama Dallas. Well, maybe not a remake per se, but an update; the show would focus on the next generation of Ewings, like John Ross (J.R. and Sue Ellen's son) and Christopher (Bobby and Pam's son). Members of the original cast, like Larry Hagman (J.R.), Patrick Duffy (Bobby), and Linda Gray (Sue Ellen) have been contacted about reprising their roles. This would be a remake similar to the way 90210 and Melrose Place have updated the events of the original shows.
Dallas ruled the airwaves back in the 1980s, when television was perfect (at least in our opinion) because it had on Dallas, Dynasty, Knots Landing, AND Falcon Crest. Can you believe that there was a time when four such glamorous shows were airing concurrently? Get us a DeLorean, because we don't want to go back to the future. Anyway, Dallas is really famous for the "Who Shot J.R.?" episode, which is the second most-viewed television episode in history (after the finale of M.A.S.H.) Everyone was so interested in seeing who shot J.R. that even the Turkish parliament broke session. Also, here's a fun fact about Dallas: The show was a huge hit internationally, except for Japan -- where the populace didn't like the "unhappy endings" each week.

Why won't you bring Dallas back? Everyone wants it. It was the best show ever. I don't watch sopanet now, but if Dallas comes back I will watch every episode. It would also be great to have Knots Landing and Dynasty back.

Bring Dallas back. I got cable just for the soapnet channel to see Dallas and then you took it off...Dallas is much better than all of the cheesy soaps you have on now. The overacting is nauseous. Bring Dallas back !!!!

PLEASE, put back on Dallas from the first episode!! I love Dallas and I also grew up watching this show. I added soapnet to my cable lin up just as you stopped airing it and I have been searching for it ever since. I cant afford to buy the series so please air it again and let us fans know when you do. SHOOT YEAH! BRING IT ON!!! I own Dallas seasons 1-12 and in the process of adding 13 and 14 to my collection. I grew up on DALLAS! It was my favorite show and still is.... I added soapnet just to watch Dallas, after they quit airing it, I dropped soapnet! I also enjoy knots landing, falcon crest, dynasty, and the colbys. NOW THOSE ARE SOAPS PEOPLE! ALL THIS JUNK THEY HAVE ON NOW IS NOT WORTH WATCHING..... cept GH
I would definitely watch a new Dallas if it came out, but HOW ABOUT RUNNING THE OLD DALLAS SERIES AND KNOTS LANDING AND DYNASTY!!!! I am tired of seeing 90210 50 times a day!! YOU COULD AT LEAST PUT IT IN THE EARLY AM HOURS SO WE COULD RECORD IT!! C'MON...LETS HEAR IT FOR THE ORIGINAL PRIMETIME SOAPS!!!
It seems there is a huge fan base that would support dallas if you brought it back to Soapnet. Its so much better than Ryan's Hope and many shows which are duplicated throught your broadcast day. Will yall please bring it back ASAP?
