Crystal Chappell Returns to "Days"

Carly Manning's coming back!Roll over, Beethoven, and tell Bo Brady the news: Carly "I Got Buried Alive, Ask me How" Manning will be returning to Salem this fall. Yes, daytime all-star Crystal Chappell will be returning to the role once "Guiding Light" closes up shop in September.

TV Guide Magazine reports that Crystal will reprise the Carly role she last played in 1993 -- you may recall that Carly left town not long after the awesomely memorable storyline where she was buried alive by whacko Vivian Alemain. She also had a romance with Bo Brady, but that was back when he thought Hope was dead -- wonder if that will lead to some present-day awkwardness?

In the ensuing years, Crystal won a Daytime Emmy (and four other nominations) for her role as Olivia Spencer on "GL," and her current lesbian-love storyline is the talk of Springfield. Oh, and she also had a cup of coffee on "One Life to Live" as sexy nun/clowning & circus enthusiast Maggie Carpenter -- that's a personal fave of ours.

Oh, and also? Rachel Kimsey -- the former Mac on "The Young and the Restless" -- is coming to "Days." She'll play "Meredith," a woman connected to Rafe's past. She'll start airing July 17th, and you can start looking for Carly around Salem come October.

Do you think Hope's got anything to worry about with Carly coming back?

I remember Crystal's portrayal of Carly and I look forward to her return. I have checked out her work on Guiding Light and she was doing fantastic work and looks great. It should shake up Salem and give me something to look forward to. It will be great to have Bo and Hope in a major story that will be exciting for them.

I love Hope too so I'm not rooting for anyone or against anyone. This should be good for all of them. Activate the vets! The kids are boring me right now.

Nope, I don't think Hope has anything to worry about at all!
