Better days ahead for Colin?

Good news for Colin Egglesfield fans! The former Josh Madden, sole son of Erica Kane via groundbreaking aborted-fetus-transplant technology, has a new gig. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Colin has been cast on the CW's "Melrose Place" remake, along with "Sarah Connor Chronicles" actress Stephanie Jacobson.

In a serious change of pace from the Pine Valley drama Colin faced on "All My Children," the 36-year-old actor will be playing laid-back surfer dude/sous-chef Auggie on "Melrose Place." Sous-chef?! Don't they know he has like, eighty graduate degrees?

Stephanie, meanwhile, will play Lauren -- the classic "med student call girl" character. Seriously, do these people really exist? Maybe we're naive.

The pair join already cast Michael Rady, Katie Cassidy, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, and Jessica Lucas in the infamous, fictional, Los Angeles apartment complex.
