We have a confession to make. We've seen the new "Melrose Place," and ... we're kind of hooked. It's got Sydney, scandal, and a super-hot Colin Egglesfield riding a motorcycle. So we're all about any news we can get on the series.
Enter Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, with word on her character, recent L.A.-transplant Violet. In the first episode, she's the picture of Midwestern wholesomeness. But Ashlee tells People magazine -- don't expect it to last long.
"She is a little weird. I have a so-called innocent side, but I think it's just the persona that I'm giving to people. I'm only setting people up."
Ashlee says a hobby of Violet's is "obsessing over things and people. Anyone that's willing to be like, 'I'll help you out,' she finds an obsession with them."
With an apartment building like "Melrose," something tells us she'll have a ton of interesting people to ponder. For example -- tough publicist Ella, played by Katie Cassidy. Ashlee explains, "[Violet is ] desperate for family, desperate for love, desperate to connect. In a way she looks up to Ella ... because she's got it together from the outside. She sees that and she's like 'How am I ever going to fit in this town and place?'"
And of course -- things are going to get crazy. Ashlee tells People, "There's a lot of jaw-droppers on the show."
Umm, yeah. We're still picking our jaw up over the revelation that Sydney's alive!
What character do you think Violet most resembles from the original series?
