Weeks ago, All My Children announced that starting January 4, production of the show will move from New York City to Los Angeles. What was not known was which cast members were making the move -- until now.
Susan Lucci, who has played Erica Kane since the show's debut in 1970, will be going! She'll be joined by most of her castmates, including Cameron Mathison (Ryan) and Michael E. Knight (Tad).
We should note that Alicia Minshew, who plays Kendall, will start her maternity leave in November 2009 (she'll continue to air into December).
Thorsten Kaye, who plays Zach Slater, will not be relocating to Los Angeles. Ray MacDonnell -- AMC's other original cast member -- has decided to retire from acting. His character, Joe Martin, may appear occasionally, depending on storyline needs and actor availability.

when amc make this move im done with it...i've already dropped general over a yr ago due to it becoming the mob show...now with amc losing alot of players, i'll give it a try but i'm thinking, no...oltl will be the only soap ill be watching....
I guess I'm going to have to quit watching AMC. I can't believe they are relocating despite losing all their best talent! I was already having trouble with the Ryan Erica story! I hope Thorstyn can be resurected over at OLTl, let John go back to Blair so she will leave Todd & Tea alone! Then again, OLTL is getting on my nerves too! Why can't anyone ever stay happy on these shows? Now, Jared is a Psycho Bad Guy? Give me a break!
I love Zach please don't let him go talk him into staying the chemistry that Zach and Kendall has is beautiful. Zach makes the show along with the Hubbards. There has to be something that you all can do to keep him around. If it wasn't for Zach and Kendall and the Hubbards the show would be boring.
zach i can't breathe without you....
I am delighted that ALL the Hubbards are L.A. bound! I especially am happy about Frankie and Randi! Their storyline is awesome and it gives people hope that may be dealing with challenges in their marriage. With all the lies and deception that goes on in Pine Valley "Frand" is a refreshing story. And the two actors who portray Randi and Franki are doing a terrific job.
I am very upset that Zach is leaving the show. I guess I am being selfish. But, if he is leaving I do not know if I will be watching AMC anymore he is my favorite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please beg him to stay. I love him and Kendall together. PLEASE MR. THORSTEN KAYE STAY!!!! Thank You
My biggest gripe is the way Amanda holds her baby and is always jouncing him up and down. Don't the people directing the show see the problem or the other women stars that are watching? She holds the kid like a sack of potatoes. I hate David, but he is a great actor.
After watching AMC the last two days without Zach & Kendall I have no desire to continue to watch AMC once TK & AM leave. After 35 years of watching AMC I no longer care about any of these characters and despise all of the story lines that where on.
It is sad what ABC has allowed Brian Frons & Charles Pratt to do to AMC.
Someone.........please make Thorsten Kaye stay!!! What an impact he has on this show. I have watched AMC since day one and Thorsten (Zach) and Alicia (Kendall) are the best TV couple ever. Their chemistry is unique and intriguing. Otherwise, I think that AMC is really going down the tubes.
I am really looking forward to the show after the move to LA.
I am loving the show lately and think it will only continue to get better wth the new production.
Frankie & Randi are the reason I tune in and boy I have not been disappointed. They are fabulous together, just so genuinely in love, devoted to each other and fierce about supporting/loving.
And for goodness sake thier chemistry and sensuality is AMAZING! the only thing missing is baby FRANDI
