All My Children: Who's Going to L.A.?

Susan Lucci will be  moving to LA with the show.

Weeks ago, All My Children announced that starting January 4, production of the show will move from New York City to Los Angeles. What was not known was which cast members were making the move -- until now.

 

Susan Lucci, who has played Erica Kane since the show's debut in 1970, will be going! She'll be joined by most of her castmates, including Cameron Mathison (Ryan) and Michael E. Knight (Tad).

We should note that Alicia Minshew, who plays Kendall, will start her maternity leave in November 2009 (she'll continue to air into December).

 

Thorsten Kaye, who plays Zach Slater, will not be relocating to Los Angeles. Ray MacDonnell -- AMC's other original cast member -- has decided to retire from acting. His character, Joe Martin, may appear occasionally, depending on storyline needs and actor availability.

OMG!!! Zach Slater cannot leave or be replaced by anyone else...He is the perfect man in all aspects physically and emotionally. If he leaves I wont really watch it anymore. I have been watching AMC on and off since I was 12 years old but ever since Zach came on I have been devoted to the show.
So I agree with suegirl 6 make him an offer he cant refuse...He an Kendal are the best couple after Leo and Greenlee, and now Ryan.
Amanda and Jake belong together that poor girl has had it rough. She deserves a good guy.
David I like and he should be with Liza or somebody else his age.
Annie should definately GO already.

Well I have read them all , now for my 2 cents, I knew Greenley would be back, I am just so happy to hear it will be with Rebecca. Zack will be a great loss, I agree that he and kendal was the couple. The only good thing about Erica and Ryan will be what Greenley will do to him for it. What fun, otherwise, YUK! Annie has got to GOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Its beyond stupid, and with Adam, even MORE! I really miss Jack, the thing with that prison girl was awful, but he needs a real love, why not Lisa? The question of the 3, Jake, David or Tad, none are right. I like Jake and Amanda, but this David thing, how awful. I love David, however, give him somethng better to be bad about already. I have been arround forever, watching this show, I moved so I would get it on TV. The direct TV in Costa Rica doesn't have it, Please do better and get new writers. Yeah to Kelly and Mark coming for a visit.

what would it take to get Zach to stay on the show? without him, i will not even care to watch anymore. i too have watched AMC since the beginning. please make him an offer he cannot refuse. we will be sure to watch then..he truly is zachalicious!!!!

I've been watching AMC for 24 years now. It's still my favorite show. I will continue to watch after the move and I wish them all the best! Life goes on just as it does for all of us. Unexpected changes come up in life and you've got to go with the flow or start a new course. The actors have to make this decision as to what is best for themselves. I will miss the ones who chose not to make the move and I wish them the best in their futures. I would like to add that I've always enjoyed Opals character and I hope she will continue. I still wish they would set her up with Jackson--hey if Erica can start something with Ryan, then Opal and Jack should be no problem--lol

I have been watch AMC since it started.There have been period,over the years,when the show has been better than others.But lately,its been really going downhill. I don't even tape it any more when I can't be home. The storyline's are really lame.
Now the show is moving,and some of the best actors are not going! I don't see how it can possibly still be even a halfway decent show anymore. They must know it,too. I mean they're bringing back Greenlee AGAIN!!(how stupid)!
I am so disappointed, a show I've watched for 39 years should'nt go down like this!

You can kiss those soap ratings goodbye! AMC will be lucky to come out of this still on the list of recognizable soaps. Big mistake...BIG. Enjoy that "state of the art" set because it's going to get quite lonely without the support of the viewers. I have been watching AMC for many years and you just lost me on this one. Zach and Kendall make the show. Take one away and it won't work. I am sick of the Erica/Ryan thing and even more sick of Tad/Crystal. Oh, and let's not forget the trio Amanda/Jake/David. That makes me want to vomit. Zach and Kendal have been the only part that has held my attention or my desire to continue viewing AMC. I was feeling the love between them and it was refreshing and felt real. Without Zach, you lose. Good luck, you'll need it.

I am devastated that Thorsten Kaye(Zack) is leaving the show.
No one could ever replace his character, he is my favorite. I knew
the bad and sassy Greenlee would resurface. David is the one that found Greenlee and hiding her until her reappearance on the show.

THIS IS HORRIBLE. I LOVE ZACK IF THEY MUST RECAST IF THEY HAVE TO. I WILL NOT WATCH ANYMORE IF THEY GET RID OF MY BEST CHARACTERS. LEAVE GREENLEE DEAD ENOUGH OF HER. ZACK AND KENDAL MUST LIVE ON WITHOUT THEM THERE IS NO SHOW THE WRITING STINKS
