"All My Children": Week in Review for August 31, 2009
Is it just us, or do you cringe every time you hear the words "I have a plan" on "AMC"? Pine Valley denizens need to learn to live in the moment, because nothing ever goes as planned. This week was once again all about the p-word. Erica planned to move in with Zach. Zach planned to manipulate Annie. Annie planned her wedding to Adam. Adam planned for Scott to be his best man -- not JR. JR planned to keep is cancer a secret from everyone but Tad. Tad planned a way for Amanda and Jake not to go to jail with Liza. Liza planned to get Marissa to spy on David. David planned to get Amanda to move in with him. Amanda planned ... well, you get the point. Here's our take on all that planning.
Funniest Moment: In a week full of cancer, missing babies, and plans gone awry ... there weren't many LOL moments. But did anyone else giggle when Indiana Jones ... er, we mean Jake, kicked David's door open and then galloped in and pulled a gun on the dastardly doc? Yeah, we figured we weren't the only ones.
Performer of the Week: Drum roll please. And the SOAPnet.com "Performer of the Week" award goes to ... Chrishell Stause! Oops, sorry, we're still in Emmy mode. OK, so Chrishell has been doing some fantastic work these past few weeks as Amanda's plan (ahem, see what we mean?) slowly began to spiral out of control. But this week, she made it very clear that not only is Amanda devastated and beyond desperate to get baby Trevor back ... but she might just be losing her mind. Why else would Amanda move in with that meanie David?
Also, kudos to Jacob Young. He's making it so darn hard to watch JR deal with his cancer. We just want to give him a big ol' hug!

Why do we call it "a soap opera" guys? .duduuh..I too have watched AMC since its beginning. It does get boring at times, but believe me....things will explode soon!!
When is the Annie story line going to end? I've got to the point I don't care anymore. Then there is David, I really wish he would move out of Pine Valley. JR should move with David. I watch four soaps, and All My Children is by all means the worst one. There is not one story going on that I like. The move to California might be the next step in All My Children going to Soap heaven. I'm sure their ratings keep going down, I don't see how it could be any other way. disappointed fan I am.....I've watch All My Children since the beginning, but now I watch it once a week to keep caught up. lol oh well.
I think that the stuart storyline is old i think adam did it and annie is using him to get what she wants and i love david he the sexist bad guy
Jake and Tad need to figure out a plan to get rid of that piece of dodo, David!! I am surely getting tired of watching JR crying, or whinning all the time. When is someone going to catch on to that dead man's wife who is always treating Jessie? Besides that All my children, is starting to boring.
HMMDavid is still a schmuck! I hope Tad and Jake come up with something quick.Crystal should get pg by David and remarry him only if he lets Amanda and Trevor go! Jr should trust his life with Melissa...so is so like her sister Babe! I hope Madison ends up on the short end of the stick as she is not one of my favorite people at all. Why doesn't Jessie figure out that she is the one that did her husband in by now? Annie is going down hard I think if she is not careful. Where the heck is Opal and Palmer? I have not seen them for awhile.
I can not believe that I've followed AMC since 1970. I really wonder what keeps me going. Come on...speed up the action. There has to be an ending to story lines. I feel like I'm on a Merry-Go-Round.
you can elimate marisa she seems to be so dumb about david. and also stweret son he seems to be dumb also
I would really like to see JR with Marissa.
And stop with Erika always wanting to be head honcho,.
I think you should make David a good guy for a change.
He has faults but he can be very nice when he wants to be.
Annie didn't kill Stuart... too easy. She will get all of Adam's money and be the new rich b**. I think Emma did it accidentally and that is why Annie is telling her to forget the night and never talk about it. Annie is covering it up to protect her, so will end up looking semi-good and that will get her out of possible jail time.
I am sure that the actress playing marisa is a very nice person but her acting is flat and she has absolutely no personality or sizzle. This makes the story line with JR and David unrealistic and boring. If she must stay on, give her some weaves! Thinning hair is NOT AMC.
