"All My Children": Week in Review for August 17, 2009
What a week: Kendall's firmly ensconced in a secret room at Casa de Slater, while Liza seems to be trying to ensconce herself with Kendall's man (but at least has some hot outfits); Jesse FINALLY told Angie and Frankie the truth about Madison; everyone worried where baby Trevor was, not knowing loony Randi had him holed up; and Erica went to Africa AND frolicked around NYC. Let's get down to our highlights.
Funniest Moment: Well, Erica's Africa journey is just ripe for hilarity, but that fills some other categories (read on) -- so we've had to go to a default: Tad and Taylor. They are so funny together! Our favorite moment had to be when they were looking for baby Trevor and Taylor deduced something and joked the CIA recruited her. When Tad responded, "Why'd you turn them down?", she replied with "Who said I did?" It had great comic timing and just reflect the wonderful, fun dynamic between these two.
Again, we want to go with Erica ... but this can't ALL be about her. Although she'd say it could.
WTH? Moment: The WTH? Award goes to Frankie. Dude, your wife is CLEARLY unstable and she finds a baby, brings it home, and wants to adopt it. Her "Look how cute he is; our lives are going to be perfect now; oh by the way I killed my former pimp who tried to rape me" vibe just screamed "Put me in Oak Haven because I unhealthily think this baby can solve all my problems." So what does Frankie do? ENABLES her by saying they can keep the kid. Not to mention that, uh, this is kind of illegal (as voice of reason Natalia pointed out). But bottom line is: Randi clearly needs help, and this baby is just a crutch to prevent her from facing her problems. We get Frankie loves her and doesn't want to see her in pain, but this is Angie's boy. He's smarter than this!
Also, we've got to give a WTH? shout out to Tad's totally awful stand up routine.

The show has become sluggish. need something or someone new. Been a fan 30 years. Just not exciting anymore. How many times can they kill people then bring them back to life. Erica needs a NEW love interest, shes been with everyone on the show, now making nice with her daughters ex lover Uck!! Give me a break! And when is Adam going to wake up. He needs to teach Annie a LESSON>

Back to the trip Krystal and Erica took to Africa. In Erica's heartwarming discussion she mentioned that schools are far away for most children. Schools in Africa are not free. There is a tuition, and for some, very steep and only those with an income can afford to send their chilldren. In most cases it is an investment because when the children graduate and become wage earners, they then support the family. Otherwise, this was a good show. How about showing visitation to the slums and strife of OUR country?
Seriously, the VERY worst moments last week were with Taylor and Opal and then with Taylor and Tad. The character of Taylor is a total waste and she is making Tad unwatchable. End this now - please!
I REALLY HATE THAT AMC IS MOVING OUT OF NY VERY SAD. WHO WILL GO AND WHO WILL STAY?????
oh, i can't wait til David finds out about the baby. it'll finally makes things interesting and make the others pay in some way for what they've done. i just hope it extends to all...like even Tad/Taylor for their part.
i especially would like to see what David would have in mind for Taylor. since he's never done anything to her or even has that history w/ her [unlike, how he does w/ the others] and yet went along with/volunteered for something so cruel against him.
I am a huge fan of All My Children. Since it began. I am also a fan of Susan Lucci, Crystal, and of course the rest of the crew. Keep up the good work. Don't let David know about his son. Let the rest of the family rest. I would like to write to Susan Lucci, and tell her how I feel about her and the rest of the cast. Thank you Paula A. Meyer.
Lowlights: all i saw in the Tad/Taylor scenes...were more awkward/bad comedy routines w/ NO romantic chem whatsoever [funny how the pic illustrates my point]. though this time w/ Taylor at it alone and Tad actually taking it seriously...as he should, given the situiation. *Bravo* to him. i don't know what's going on, but it seems like Taylor can't take anything serious anymore and finds everything to be some joke. she even was dressed inappropriately to go to the hospital, i guess in order to fit her new ditsy/bumbling personality (if you have to ACT cute and it doesn't come naturally, then you aren't). anyways she along w/ the rest...are the reason this child is missing and yet she treats it like some game? ENOUGH...there's a time and a place for everything. i can tell you, i'm not laughing and i haven't been. in fact, i was glad that Taylor was only featured in one episode this week. i can only take her in small doses. it's great Tad didn't ask her to come to Confusion because that would have made those scenes especially the stand up, worse. yeah she would have been as USELESS, as she has been in all this!
as for Erica/Krystal scenes...i just liked when Erica snarked at Krystal. however, all i kept thinking was what a rip off...it SHOULD have been Brooke and nothing will ever compare to that classic frenemy relationship so don't even try it. also was cheering the scorpion on. i just hope they keep those two as enemies because Erica is the ONLY one allowed to hate a Carey and i'd hate for her to drink that Kool-Aid!
Annie, not surprising continues to be disgusting.
On a positive note...Highlights: SL's [Erica] words were absolutely beautiful/moving!*Brava* also Petey making an appearance, as well as he being in a scene w/ his mother.
Thanks for also Noticing how badly Liza's clothes fit. Her hair Style aint musch to look at either. She needs some baby drool. She takes baby to a bar, and forgets him with Zach. Why did she want him? Where has she been?
I think adam is playing Annie. Anybody old enough to rmember Erica's love scenes with Jackson when they hooked up? They were hot LUST in the afternoon. anyone else BORED with MURDER?
