All My Children: Week in Review for April 18, 2011

Kendall Hart, Cara Finn, Griffin CastilloWhen it comes to looking back on the best, craziest, most dramatic moments on All My Children this week, we know what we think. But what we really want to know is what YOU think? What were your picks for this week's funniest moment? Or best performer? We've got some talking points to get you all started, but give us your own picks in the comments below!

Funniest Moment: The moment when Angie didn't realize that David had entered her apartment and picked up her baby. She thought he was Randi. That's not funny, necessarily, but: didn't she notice the temperature drop 30 degrees when David entered? We always thought that's what happened when David entered any room.

WTH? Moment: Jesse flipping out on Tad and Jake, because he's so stressed about the secret he's keeping.

Performer of the Week: Lindsay Hartley as Cara Finn, once again showing how this tiny woman is NOT somebody you want to cross. And that goes for her family too, Kendall.

Best Moment: Kendall telling Griffin to let her go and save himself and not to worry about her. The sparks between those too are almost visible.

Why We Love All My Children This Week: Erica's captivity has us riveted. Especially the terrifying implication that Miranda was in danger if Erica didn't comply.

So let's hear YOUR favorite AMC moments this week!

Melissa makes a quasi pass and Kendall daydreams about Kicking ass. And who knew the Rev. was already in the house while Ryan advised Kendall to be cautious? Plus I got ten bucks that say she stashes Griff in the same room where she stayed hid during the Investigation of Stuart Chandler murder. Or was it the shooting of David? I'm confused because the Cain women got a lot of blood on their hands. Kendall was right when she said the Rev. should be afraid of her. It seems that her and Greenlee are back to attack mode.Melissa as the aggressor is kinky as hell and imagine the surprise when Jr learns of it from Scott.

Where the hell is Erica?

Best Moment/Best Actress: Randi

I was so happy that Randi was allowed the oppurtunity to express her pain again. Denise Vasi did an awesome job at pulling me into Randi's inner thoughts and continued struggle after 2 years. I loved that she was a source of comfort for her mother in law. GREAT SCENE and GREAT ACTING!!

I'm hoping this was the lead up to Frankie and Randi announcing their pregnancy.

The recapper of this page and I must have different definitions of "sparks." Go watch scenes with Zach and Kendall--any scenes with Zach and Kendall--and you'll see what sparks are all about. I see friendship and gratitude on Kendall's part when it comes to Griffin, but her thoughts are only on what happened to her husband. I agree with Leah, that if she show is going to end, it needs to end with Team Slater. Kendall will never be happy with another man in the short amount of time AMC has left and she deserves to be happy, as do the Zach and Kendall fans who had to suffer so much unnecessary heartache at the hands of incompetent (and subsequently fired) writers.

I love Angie and Jesse. No matter what the story, they are terrific and so real. And while I still enjoy Cara with Tad, I cannot stomach her shrillness over her brother a moment longer. I wouldn't mind seeing her and Tad fall in love before the show ends, but she needs to lay off Kendall and tone it down in the self-righteous department.

Just want to chime in on a couple of things....

1. Kendall/Griffin. I am continually surprised by how much I like these two together. I thought they were very sparkly indeed on Friday. Griffin is clearly putty in Kendall's hand, which I love. And I think Alicia Minshew is playing Kendall close to perfectly. It's clear (to me, anyway) that she still loves Zach, but that she has some feelings for Griffin she's not ready to put a name to. Really nicely done.

Please dial down the references to Griffin 'saving lives' though. We get it. He's a good guy. You probably especially want to dial that down because Kendall hasn't historically been hot for good guys.

And Ricky needs to DIE. Every time he puts his hands on Kendall or Zach's sons I want him eviscerated, and I want Kendall to have the pleasure. Is that wrong?

I also love, love LOVE Erica's kidnapping story! It's fabulous! I am on the edge of my seat when they're on.!

I have to say that Randi played by the Lovely Denise Vasi was riveting to watch when she was talking to Angie about the pain and emptiness she felt of Losing her precious baby when she miscarried two years ago. I remember that scene like it was yesterday and I was right there with Randi as she laid there helplessly in pain. DV was phenomenal and so realistic in her portrayal! When I watched her talking with Angie that scene came right back to me. It's obvious that Randi is more than Ready to be a MOM . Frankie and she will make wonderful parents and this Fan will be thrilled to see that as well.

Performer of the Week: Denise Vasi as Randi Hubbard. She beautifully conveyed Randi's pain and emptiness of losing her baby. Randi yearns to be a Mother. I hope she and Frankie soon learn they are expecting again.

There were some interesting moments this week. I liked the Angie/David scenes. I like that David is being written with more complexity then just being the town's irredeemable villain. I want David to be a doctor again and regain his license and this story about Angie's eye sight is a good way to do it. As bad as David has been written in the past, he was always a caring doctor and during those moments the character showed vulnerability. The s/l with Greenlee took that vulnerability away from him and hopefully this story with Angie will resurrect the real David. VI is a wonderful actor and his portrayal of David I have so enjoyed over the years.

Seeing the real take no prisoners Kendall return this week with a vengeance, was a sight for sore eyes. This is the Kendall that I have enjoyed watching over the years, but during the last year K&S had turned her into a whimpy damsel in distress to push a transparent agenda to place their newbie doctor into a front burner story. I hope that the new headwriter will continue to write Kendall as the smart, strong, independent woman that she is.

I disagree with the recapper's contention that there were any sparks between Kendall and Griffen. I don't know what show he/she were watching, but all I saw was Kendall, a grieving widow, desperately searching for answers of what happened to Zach, the love of her life.Today she was trying so hard not to fall apart emotionally, but to honor her husband's memory by planning to trap the man, who took away her soulmate, even at the risk to her own life. I'm glad that Ryan is there to help her. For a change Ryan did not try to control Kendall as in the past, but offered to protect her as she sets up Ricky, Zach's killer. If there were any noticeable sparks, they may have come from Griffen, but Kendall was all about Zach, the only man she will ever love. Before AMC goes sadly off the air in September, I hope that Lorraine Broderick, the new HW, brings back Thorsten Kaye as Zach and reunites Team Slater.

Tad and Cara were enjoyable this week as they are becoming more of a couple. However Cara must stop her over the top worship of her brother. It is becoming nauseating. Writers, we know he saves lives......give it a rest already!!!!!

Fri, Apr 22 - 7:00 pm

Cara's been a loud and annoying shrew this week. Not a good look on Hartley.

I do like the Erica story a lot. I like the mystery. I'm liking Kendall and Griffin, as well, but enough with the "he saves lives" crap.
