All My Children Sneak Peek: Week of 4/11/11

The search for Zach's killer has taken Kendall down some dark roads. Now it seems like her loved ones are being targeted. After Ricky successfully set up Griffin and got him thrown in jail, Griffin needs to get to the truth before it's too late. And the clock is ticking, as Ricky continues to prey on Kendall's sympathies ... as he orders a hit on Griffin!

Meanwhile, Erica and Jack are getting ready to walk down the aisle, but is Erica as sure as we'd like her to be? This week, Caleb makes one last offer to Erica: call off the wedding and go with him. Erica's going to have to make a choice. But before that happens -- Erica gets kidnapped!

JR's efforts to win Marissa back have been steadily increasing. This week, a bit of good news leads to an unexpected kiss. But is Marissa really willing to put everything behind her?

Amanda's not at all pleased that the effort to clear Griffin of his alleged crimes has once again brought Jake and Cara closer together again. This week, Amanda approaches Tad with a question: does he want Cara hanging around Jake any more than she wants Jake around Cara? What do you think Tad would say?

All this, plus Maya is looking to be the new Chandler maid, and she catches Asher's eye in the process. And Greenlee's struggles with Emma begin to remind her a little too much of her own "wicked stepmother" relationship with Erica.

What are you most looking forward to this week?

I can't believe AMC is going to end in September. My favorite daytime show. Please let Griffin and Kendall be together. Push the Rev. overboard!!

Well, everything else in the world has gone to hell in a handbasket, not to mention my corner of the world, too, so now you're going to take AMC off the air. Well, thank you so much for adding to my yukk. Damn silliest thing I ever heard of!! Don't count on me checking out those new shows ABC will be putting in it's place - not interested in it or any of the other soaps. Pooh on you, ABC honchos!!!

Seems that a lot of folks are hung up on Ricky not being an ordained minister, we don't know that. Just because he's a bad guy who goes around killing orange people doesn't mean he's not a minister. Anyone can go online or take a correspondence course by mail and become ordained. So it is possible that the marriages he has performed are legal. Or not, after all it is a soap.

Well they can do all the "strategy" and put on all the "dynamic" new shows they want; I won't be there. AMC is the ONLY daytime TV I ever watch (not just soaps) and have been doing so for decades. What's ""The Chew"? Some kind of chat show, as in "chew the fat?" Just what we need...more gossip and opinions (not interesting ones, like ours - ha!). From now to the end of September is a long time to mourn and feel awful every time one watches, knowing the end is coming. I may ween myself off this show gradually and stop viewing long before then and they can watch their ratings drop sooner. Network television sucks as it is - why not piss off another loyal audience group, including older viewers, and put another nail in the coffin.

It's a sad day for all of us. I, for one, will not tune in to any show that moves into the time slot that has always belonged to All My Children.

The only thing I can say at this point is, please Lorraine Broderick, wrap up this show with the dignity and grace that it deserves. Focus on the core families, no more newcomers.

Until the very last day, I will continue to watch and I will continue to come here to debate the story lines with fellow fans. We may not always agree on who's good or evil, but we all agree that we love our Pine Valley!

This SUCKS big time!!!!! Dump General Hospital instead of All My Children!!! They have had the most moronic story lines since the 1980s!!!!!!!

I have been watching AMC since Day 1. I am heartbroken!

Breaking News: LOS ANGELES -- Brian Frons, President ABC Daytime, has announced a new daytime programming strategy, canceling two of ABC's long-running daytime dramas/

After more than 40 years on the air, "All My Children" will end its run in late September of this year, and the premiere of a dynamic new show,

"The Chew," will immediately follow.

"One Life to Live" will bring its long run to a close in January 2012, when the new lifestyle show, "The Revolution," will premiere.

Thursday's announcement does not affect "General Hospital," which is currently the number two show in daytime television, and will continue to be part of ABC's daytime line up, along with "The View."

Did I miss something? What are the many problems that Greenlee is causing in PV?

Anyway, what I do miss about AMC is the strength of the older characters, e.g., Phoebe, Palmer, Myrtle, Adam, Erica's mom. Whether these people were crazy, wicked or as sweet as sugar, you understood that for the most part, everything revolved around family. Now, you have people who should be the sages (Is that a bad word?) running around acting like lovesick teenagers. This behavior from Erica, Jack, Caleb, and even Krystal and David (They all have grown children with careers--some even have grandchildren) is just ridiculous. Somebody help this show.
