All My Children Names New Head Writer

Big news out of All My Children -- Lorraine Broderick has been named the new head writer. She'll be succeeding David Kreizman and Donna Swajeski, who are no longer with the show.

Lorraine has a long history with All My Children. She first joined the show in 1979, under the guidance of the show's creator, Agnes Nixon. In 1987, she was promoted to head writer, a post she served at for a few years. After some time away from AMC, she returned in 1995 and was head writer for two years (penning such stories as Erica's addiction to pills. Remember that?). In 2009, she returned to AMC as associated head writer.

Ms. Broderick's additional credits include head writing gigs at One Life to Live, As The World Turns, and Guiding Light. She's also served on the writing teams at Days of our Lives and Port Charles. She's a four-time Emmy award winner.

What sort of stories do you hope Lorraine writes?

I want Frankie and Randi given a quality story that will allow them to show how amazingly talented they are. If there's one couple who's due a story it's the young, sexy Hubbards. They've been pushed to the back far too long. You can start by revealing that Frankie and Randi are expecting their first child, something their fans have been anticipating ever since they miscarried in 2009. Also, please end the nonsensical Quads and Triangles. The show is in desperate need of better balance and a return of strong, intelligent women.

I heard they were canceling All My Children, I hope with this new head writer you will not cancel the show. I have been watching since January 1970

I just want to say again...Please let Jack and Erica be together. They have so much chemistry together. Erica and Calab have none. How many more times can Erica be married or have other romantic relationships..It's time to let Erica be the matriarch..Her and Jack are perfect for each other. If the story line lets Calab break her and Jack up, I'm tuning out for good...

ITA with what Katjaye12 wrote on ABC's page.

Bring back TK as Zach Slater.
Reunite team Slater.
Bring back David Canaary.
Write great reunion story for Zendall.
Undo Gabby's paternity.
Bring more Cambias relatives.
Keep Tad/Cara -- Scott/Madison. Get rid of Rylee.
We need romance "Love in the Afternoon", lots of humor, adventure, family.
Angst that makes sense/not out of character.

Most of all Save All My Children!!

End Erica and Cooney and the Jack with KWAK stuff. Hook Kwaleb up and let Jerica be the core couple of the show. Bring back Reggie, Lily, Sean, and Molly. If the show is goiing to end than let Jerica marry with the whole family there. Bring Zach back to reunite with Kendall and let Adam/'Brooke return too.

The first thing LB needs to do is end this disgusting Erica/Cooney and Jack with that kidnapping KWAK nonsense. It makes me ill and I can't turn on the tv anymore. LEt Cooney go Looney, take Erica, and Jack saves her. Then let KWAK "comfort" Cooney like only she can in her trailer trash, kidnapping way. Jack and Erica belong together and they are the only reason I still tune in from time to time as long as they are together and not with losers like they have been the last few months. I'll pass thanks.
