Marissa and JR are set to duke it out for custody of AJ (this is the older actor, but the pic is too cute to resist). Anyway, JR lies, cheats, steals and sleeps around. Essentially he's mini-Adam. So does he deserve custody - or would that just send AJ into intensive therapy?

JASON AND JAKE!
JASON and ELIZABETH have a story worth tuning in for. I would enjoy watching JASON and ELIZABETH together as a couple; JASON being a father to JAKE; raising the boys; living together; dealing with mob life and the outside forces always at work to keep them apart. Write that story GH and you have my full attention five days a week!
I think that Sonny is being the best father that he can be! Both Carly and Alexis did not sleep with him not knowing what he was all about, and Carly must not have thought he was all that bad she decided to make him Michael's father.
Love Maurice Benard, but Sonny hasn't had alot of interaction with his kids lately since Carly and Alexis (rightly so) don't want him around them. I wish that Soapnet would have done a Luke marathon for Father's Day. Luke is not my favorite, but he has had some classic scenes with Lucky and Lulu. Too bad GH is such a male centered show and didn't show a Mother's Day Marathon. I would have loved even a Carly one.
Jason is not a deadbeat dad because He gave up his son to protect him & so he could have a better life for him. Sam asked him to be in Jake's life & he said that he was better off without him because Lucky could be more of a father than he could be, because of his line of work, so Jason did the only thing to keep his son safe at all times, & he knows that Lucky is a great father, so he made a sacrifice for his son. That is not a deadbeat father that is a great father making sure that his son is safe at all times. Just because he is with Sam doesn't mean that he has to be out of Jake's life, & Sam told him that she would support him no matter what he decides. This was Jason's decision. Just because Jasam are together, if Jason ever decides to be in Jake's life, he can be, doesn't mean he has to be with liz. Jason belongs with Sam & when & if he wants to be in Jake's life, he can be with Sam there to support him, all the way. To be a father doesn't mean you have to be with the mother of the child, there are lots of single mothers & fathers who aren't married or together, & the children are fine, so Jason made the choice that was right for him & only him.
I think all the fathers are good dads it just that they all made mistakes in the past that they are trying to fix right now!! but they get credit for trying
Where should I start with this great debate. I can definitely say I'm on Team Sonny. He's a good dad. He's sacrificed many things in the past for his kids. Do I think that he's getting the rotten end of the stick right now? Heck yea. He gives up Morgan because Carly thinks that Jax is a better father and he didn't want Morgan to go through a custody battle. The same Jax that set everything in motion by wanting Sonny to go to prison for a crime he didn't commit. Okay...but Jax is so much better a father figure. RME. When it comes to the whole Kristina deal, Kristina is a spoil brat that really needs to be put in her place. This whole "I hate Sonny" schtick she's on, Sonny's a good father for simply not washing his hands of her. The Dante thing...that should be blamed on Olivia. She didn't tell the man he had a son and her lame excuse was because he was involved in the mob. To be honest Alexis and Olivia are in the same boat...they basically kept Sonny away from their children because he picked another woman over them. And that's it. Now when it comes to the Jason issue, I think he'll be a great father to his son Jake. I hate that they had Elizabeth and Jason agree together for him to not be apart of Jake's life with Jason leading the charge only to turn around and have Jason not only become a godfather to Joss but to have him around every kid in Port Charles except his own son and still want to say...well that's to protect Jake from danger. I blame that on not wanting Jason to grow and have a family of his own. They opened the door in 2006 for Jason to have his own family with Elizabeth becoming pregnant with his child. They should have followed through with him actually attempting to be a true family with Elizabeth, Cam, and Jake. Stopping mid-story and then using the danger card on why Jason can't be around his child but be around every other child on the show was a stupid card to play especially with who Jake's parents are. Jason who's always the hero and Elizabeth who's been around mob activity or danger per Helena in some shape or form since entering Port Charles.
I agreewith the premise about Olivia & Alexis. I have always thought that the real reason that she did not tell Sonny she was pregnant was because he had hooed up with her cousin Connie.
I don't just want Jason to be in Jake's life, he NEEDS to be.

I find the idea, with all the people that know already, of Jake's true parentage remaining a secret is RIDICULOUS.

How Franco can study Jason Morgan and NOT see the footage and clippings of Jason saving Jake TWICE not be a RED FLAG?? Jason drops out of a Russian Mob war over his territory when he is boss to run after 'some kid' who means nothing to him??? Hummmm. Jason Morgan, out on bail, violates the terms to rescue 'just some kid' ending up BACK IN JAIL... yeah?... I hate when GH thinks we are stupid...
They try to make Franco look like a crazed master mind yet he can't put that together???

based on those SHOW FACTS I feel comfortable calling Jason Morgan an ABSENTEE POP.

he's left his only child and woman who means so much to him, along with her other sweet child, flailing in the wind for any enemy with half a brain to snatch.
I'm not at all impressed that General Hospital has Jason Morgan stay away from Jake and Elizabeth. It's ridiculous that he has no contact with them on screen, and no scenes. I have never seen a soap have a former couple have zero screen time and have never seen a soap have a parent have zero screen time with a child. It's supposed to be a soap. Soaps at their core are about family. Jake and Elizabeth are family to Jason. It seems logical to me he would have stories with them.
I have no desire to see Jason "parenting" Sonny's kids anymore. Clearly, it's not that dangerous for him to be around kids since he's always around other people's kids. It's time for the show to write Jason as a parent to Jake on screen and as a romantic partner with Elizabeth on screen.
maybe they can't afford to pay for extras to be guards? LOL
