Palmer Cortlandt, played for 30 years by the incomparable James Mitchell, was born of humble beginnings. But Pete Cooney of Pigeon Hollow, West Virginia, had dreams of money and power -- and, after renaming himself Palmer Cortlandt, achieved them by starting Cortlandt Electronics.

I started watching AMY from its conception. It was only a half hour program at that time. I was elated when it was extended to one hour. James Mitchell always gave you a very believeable and thrilling performance. He was truly the best in his business. I will miss him and " PC" very much. I looked back on the pictures of James/Palmer and it brought back such great memories. R.I.P dear friend.

Bravo to one of the best AMC had to offer...wish he'd had a little more screen time in the last few years.
And it's about time we saw some more of Daisy! Hope she's not gone forever after this...
Palmer was a great Character and James Mitchell played him great he will be missed.... I loved he scenes between Adam and Palmer I always found them quit funny at times that was a great rivalry... RIP James Mitchell
I will certainly miss Palmer Corltlandt even though James Mitchell had been off canvas for awhile. I started watching AMC in 1979, the same year that Palmer came to town. James Mitchell was a great actor. Mitchell made Palmer a complex character who had a heart and feelings despite his ambition and over-protectiveness of Nina. I loved him married to both Daisy and to Opal. He was a fantastic actor and Palmer was a fantastic character and he will truly be missed.
