Grief Sex

Jason & Elizabeth CAN really be together if the writers ACTUALLY followed through with the mob codes. FAMILY is sacred in the mob. Besides, Jason would, LIKE HE ALREADY SAID, keep guards on Elizabeth and the boys. Not to mention Jason's job for the past almost 14yrs has been PROTECTOR & ENFORCER, and he's GOOD at it. Lastly, Nikolas' granny Helena & her goons are more dangerous than the lot of Jason's enemies, so the danger excuse was always laughable at best. The only ones keeping these two apart are the writers and/or people in charge of s/ls.
Jason & Elizabeth CAN and SHOULD be together, and they will be whenever the WRITERS choose to WRITE it.

ITA with your entire post!

Wish the writers would man-up and write for these two awesome actors and legacy characters.

Agree with everything you said. Especially about the mob. Of course women and children can get hurt in the crossfire but even the Godfather had family. And all the bull about not being able to get out of the mob... Jason needing to be around to protect Sonny and yet he goes off to jail for 5 years. Ummmm Jason is leaving the mob-- DUH. Would have made more sense for Jason to hire the Cuban Mafia or the Brotherhood to guard Michael while Jason was on the outside keeping the business strong to ward off a take over.

so GH... never say never... Jason, for all intent and purposes, just left the mob. There for Jason and Elizabeth CAN be together.

Kendall's habitual grief sex addiction still makes my skin crawl. Just gross.

Thu, May 20 - 2:32 pm

Okay, the examples of Kendall being with Aidan and Ryan weren't so much grief sex. They were "let's make Kendall look like the bad guy to redeem her betrayers sex." Kendall sleeps with Aidan—poof—Greenlee the kidnapping baby-maimer is the victim. Kendall sleeps with Ryan—poof—Zach, he who had a baby with his wife's sister and was making out with the confused lesbian, is the injured party. What a load of BS. The writers—and I'm using that term loosely—wrote people into corners with no way out. So what did they do? Whitewash/deflect the blame. LAME.

It was completely out of character for Kendall to do this. It only heaped more angst on already angst-ridden crap. And it didn't make me angry at Kendall at all. It made me feel incredibly sorry for her. EPIC FAIL, AMC, EPIC FAIL.

P.S. I tried to post this before and it wound up in a different group of comments. Oh well.

OMG, how about Kendall being responsible for what Kendall does instead of putting it on others so that she's continually the injured and innocent betrayed victim. I could turn your theory around and make it that Zach had a baby with Bianca so that --poof---Kendall, who slept with Aidan instead of properly mourning her not-really-dead husband, was the injured party. Her horny betrayal forgotten because Zach knocked up her sister via artificial insemination. What Kendall did with Ryan especially was a huge betrayal of Zach. Not only did she shack up with him but she gave him her heart. I bet given the choice Kendall would rather what he did than Zach immediately jumping into bed with two of his ex-lovers the second she wasn't around, like she did.

Grief sex is a mechanism that writers, who lack talent and creative imagination use to break up strong audience popular couples.Charles Pratt and B&E, former Head writers for All My Children, fall into that catagory. They used it for Kendall to break the Zendall bond in an attempt to pair them with others. Well, as we all know attempting to pair Ryan with Kendall and Zach with Liza went over like a lead balloon with the audience, because both were disgusting chemistry lacking pairings. Zach and Kendall were mended back together before TK and AM left in 2009.

My advice to the new head writers at AMC, the audience isn't stupid to fall for old quicky hookups using grief sex as one of the mechanisms. How about some creative slow burns like Zendall's and pick couples that actually have chemistry. Bring back Thorsten Kaye/Zach and Alicia Minshew/Kendall together and let them show you what a truely magical pairing looks like. Right now AMC lacks passion and romance, necessary staples for a successful soap opera.

Loved seeing Jason and Elizabeth (General Hospital) on this list. I've waited forever to see them together and that one night stand lead to some of the best years of the show as the two struggled with keeping baby Jake a secret from Jason's enemies. I'm still rooting for the two to reunite and find a way to be together. Jason deserves to get the family he's always wanted with Elizabeth and Elizabeth deserves a guy who treats her right (and who she is always stronger and smarter and better around). I think this is why they're contenders in Soaps in Depth's Supercouple Smackdown voting right now. So vote, vote, vote for them to get into the finals!

I didn't realize Kendall and Ryan made this list also. THAT was without a doubt the worse storyline EVER presented on AMC. I stopped watching. Seeing Kendall and Ryan together made my skin crawl. It actually made me HATE the character of Kendall for awhile. The character of Ryan I already hated and will ALWAYS hate. However, I've forgiven Kendall . . . but only because of the chemistry AM and TK share.

Ryan and Kendall should never even share a scene together again . . . let alone hook up romantically.

The thing is . . . Kendall was in love with Zach. How she could ever even imagine being with Ryan after Zach is baffling in itself. Zach is so much the better man than Ryan Lavery could ever even dream of being.

AMC needs to somehow lure TK back!!

Kendall was so distraught over the thought of her husband being dead that the last thing that would have been on her mind was sex. The only thing that would have made her do that is if she honestly believed it was Zach she was with. I hated the way they handled the fall out once the truth came out. They could have told such a better story, but NO, they had to take something so heartbreaking and make it worse.

B&E and Pratt both struck gold with Zach and Kendall and instead of writing riveting stories for them they wrote what my 14 year old daughter could have written. Actually, she could have done better.

None of them should ever put pen to paper again!!
