Best Dog: David Vickers
We kick off our OLTL decade in review with our favorite four-legged character of the last ten years, David Vickers the Dog. Check out his vivid intensity (especially in the presence of that weaselly jewelry appraiser)!
The storyline of Marcie & Al was & is my favorite of all time. I'm a guy (straight) and I am also a romantic. I really enjoyed the way this story played out. albeit tragic. It was beautiful.
I loved the OLTL Best of the Decade gallery, and as a writer, I particularly enjoyed the excellent tongue-in-cheek writing style. But I also wanted to congratulate SoapNet for recognizing what an amazing job Trevor St. John has done as Todd Manning.
I didn't watch OLTL until 2003, so St. John's Todd was the only one I knew. Then along came a certain video-clip Web site, and I had the opportunity to watch RH in the role. What an incredible actor.
Often the second actor to play a soap role can count on being disliked due to comparison. But St. John stepped into the unbelievably large shoes of his predecessor and made Todd his own.
Also, we must for once note OLTL for good writing. Introducing St. John as Walker Lawrence with ongoing subtle hints that he was Todd made viewers WANT him to be Todd. Had St. John come on as Manning from the beginning, he would have been rejected outright and never would have had the chance to prove he could play the role not only convincingly but extremely well.
But what if . . . RH came back as Todd, and we discovered that St. John's character was never REALLY Todd but actually WAS some horribly gifted scam artist? Would Todd (played by RH) ever forgive whoever St. John's character turned out to be? How many years of revenge-based battles between two tortured and beloved villians could we see? And whom would Blair actually be obsessed with? Could be interesting, and stranger things have happened in soaps . . .
Todd's execution scene which was the most edge of your seat episode ever. Trevor's perfomance was brilliant and outstanding before and to the day of the execution.
And also thank you for saying he's the best recast. Trevor St John deserves this. Especially this being his last four months left on OLTL. And yes he has filled RH shoes and completely made Todd his own.
Can't see RH in the role of Todd Manning anymore. Trevor owns the role now.
This really bugged me with your biased choices for best of the decade. You picked Michael and Marcie to be the best love story, when there are others you can choose from, like let's say John and Natalie? And why didn't John McBain get any mention at all as one of the best cast members of OLTL? I don't get it.

I absolutely refuse to use those tags or think of people in that way. Have we become so lazy that we can't say two names and a conjunction?
